A Playbook of Silent Fantasy

Installation by Cassie Riger | May 15 – 31, 2010
RIGHT WINDOW Gallery | 992 Valencia Street, San Francisco

Video Still

When and why must a mime speak? A Playbook of Silent Fantasy explores the trope of the mime—a solitary wordless actor—in the real-life historical context of a radical community circa 1977. Riger’s installation situates silent videos of a utopian mime troop in the RIGHT WINDOW Gallery storefront, visible from street 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
